Create student data files.

For each assessment group, you will need to create a student data file that is exported from your student information system. An assessment group includes the group of student s who complete the assessment during the same class period.

If you do not know how to export data as comma-separated value (.CSV) files from your student information system, instructions are listed below. Consider asking a colleague to assist in creating the files.

The file you create must include the nine required fields below for each student:

  • Personal ID/system student ID
  • State student ID
  • Last name
  • First name
  • Middle name (optional)
  • Birth date
  • Grade level

The header row (first row) for each CSV file should be:

student.personID,student.stateID,student.lastName,student.firstName,
student.middleName,student.birthdate,student.grade

The subsequent rows have individual student information for each of the fields, one row per student.
